AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. RADIUM RESEARCH. VALUABLE LOAN TO OXFORD. LONDON. Sept. 2(5 Professor F. Soddy has arrived in London from Czecho-Slovakia with two grammes of radium, which has Iweti lent to Oxford University, for fifteen years, after which it will he returned to Czecho-Slovakia. The radium, which is valued at £70,000, is the biggest and costliest' consignment ever moved. The Foreign Office will take custody of the radium until Prof. Soddy removes it to Oxford, where it will be used for experimental purposes.
