I WELLINGTON, September 24. , AIOTOR VEHICLES BILL. | The Motor Vehicles Bill in addition to providing for the registration and licensing of cars of all types, provides for the licensing of drivers. This part of the Hill is of special interest. No person is to be permitted to drive any motor vehicle, unless be is licensed. ;1 nd in, license is to be issued to persons under seventeen years of age. The issue of a license may be subject to examination or other conditions. A fee of live shillings for a license goes to the local authority, while the fee for the licensing of the ear. goes to the Government. The Animals- ITotcctinn Bill is ail amending and consolidating measure that has long been demanded b.v ,\<cl : - matisatioil Societies. It contains many provisions suggested by the Societies for the protection of game and en(aiuriigement of genuine sport. The bill contains a long list of birds that are declared to 1“' absolutely protected, some 200 species and varieties being mentioned. The penalty for taking or killing ally native or imported game during the close season is a fine of £lO for every such offence, and a further fine of Cl for each head of game so taken or killed. Special provision is made against im|Kiitation, without authority, of reptiles or birds or beasts of prey. BIG BUSINESS SHEET.
After sitting for two afternoons the House of Reps lias an order paper of quite formidable dimensions. Nineteen bills have been introduced, six of these coming from the Government. If the House eared to set itself seriously to the task of finishing, its work before Christinas, it could get "busy this week. The Addiess-in-Reply debate comes first however, ami since the leader of tlie Opposition and tin' Leader of the Lalxmr Baity have both given notice of amendments, the debate seems bound to occupy a few days ADDRESS DERATE. Roth Houses will meet on Tuesday and will hear the opening speeches in the Address-in-Reply debate.
