DELUGE OF BILLS. WELLINGTON, September 23. ' There was a small deluge of Government Bills which surprised the House to-day. It is the usual custom to withhold Bills until the Address-in-Reply dehate is completed, in order to avoid giving members additional material for speeches, hut the Government has a week to spare on this occasion and it has brought down the Mortgages and Deposits Extension Bill, Motor Vehicles Bill. Animals protection Bill, and Game Bill; Government of Sujnoa Bill and Forests Bill. QUESTIONS AND NO CONFIDENCE. ' This afternoon, questions occupied the House for the best part of mi hour without providing much of interest. The new member for I’at.ea gave notice to move the Address-iii-Replv and the Labour Leader (Mr Holland) presented the amendment he intends to move. It takes the form of a direct want of confidence motion, and mentions finance, housing and unemployment as the reasons why the (.lovornjneut cannot possess the contidence of the House. The Motor Vehicle Bill is n comprehensive measure providing for the licensing of motors and drivers, the inspection of motor vehicles, the issue of by-laws and punishment of reckless or negligent drivers. The Bill is lengthy and complex.
