OUTBREAK AT RRISRANK. (Received This Day at 11.3(1 a.m.) RRISRANK. Sept. 15 An outbreak of bubonic plague is announced at South Brisbane. One death is roporUnl. | The health authorities cji.ncealed the matter for 21 days. Investigations proved that six rats examined were infected. PRECAUTIONS IN SYDNEY. (Received This Day at 1.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept 15. Strict precautions arc being adopted with vessels from Brisbane, in view of the outbreak of plague there. FURTHER PARTICULARS. BRISBANE, Sept. 45. The plague victim was an employee ill a produce store. Resides six infect, cd rats found in South Brisbane, two were caught in North Brisbane area with suspicions symptoms. The Home Secretary ■announced m the Assembly that there, was no need for public alarm as fifteen days had passed since the original eases had been reported and no more suspicious < uses had been reported since. Action is being taken to destroy rats mi the water front and in warehouses. Other restrictive measures are being enforced.
