MOTOR-CYCLE DERBY. PARIS. July 21 The French motor-cycle Derby, U'.n to-day on the Lc Mans course. has been a triumph for Knglisli-madc mm limes. Bennett, <m a Sunbeam, came m an easy lirst, in the heavy motor-cycle category, covering the distance, lP2i miles, in 3hr. 15miii. 21 3-ssecs., or .-(),i. miles an hour. The second was also a Sunbeam ridden bv De La Hay, who was 2min. 27sec. slower. The Triumph, and the fourth and 'ifth were Douglas machines. Tho race, which is run oil the course over which the motor Grand l’rix is to he contested to-morrow, is a very difficult one, owing to acute hairpin (miters. Kirkhnm, riding a Douglas, fell at one of the corners early in the ruse and fractured an ami and a leg.
