The visiting forwards were n fairly even lot who had the best ol the sc rums and got the hall out nicely to the barks, ami most of them handled well, hill in the loose rushes, they were beaten. The hacks all handled well, their passing wits smart, short and true, they showed dash and opened up the play at every chance, cutting in prettily and doing remarkably good work, with the exception of the lirst half of the second spoil, when the team appeared to take a decided pull on themselves. Of the hacks Nodding dirl all th:U . was rcipiired. handling and kicking well. Wogan and Stanley wore tho best, ol die three-i|uarters, die former opening the game up repeatedly. dumpiness, live-eighths, and Mingay, half, did a In, of smart, opening work very cleanly. The whole bad; team gave a lino display turning deleave into attack on e\c,y opportunity. The Coast forwards were generally good, but were generally beaten lor the hall in the serums. In the open they had |,v far die best of the play, but nearly all failed to tackle pinpcrly. Mom! It was easily the best of the iiuncii, Ilagar, McKnnnoy. Deere and Rutherford being the best of the others. The hacks were outclassed coiisideiablv. RVilli giving hy far the best exposition with Irving, Russell and Nelson following in that order. The game was a very interesting one to watch, especially in the lirst spell when the visitors’ passing rushes irnm which scores came, completely overwhelmed the opposition, the combined efforts being very line. Mr Williams controlled the game excellently.
