James Doogan, aged 21, of Greymouth. was knocked down at Petone yesterday by a fire brigade motor and badly injured on the head and leg. His j condition to-day had slightly improved I though still very serious. , Theodore Woodward waa charged this morning with causing grievous bodily harm to Doogan, and was remanded for eight days, on bail. CONCILIATION COUNCIL. AUCKLAND, Aug. 39 The dispute in connection with Tnupiri and Pukemiro coal mines was before the Conciliation Commissioner. There was no appearance of the Union assessors.
