The many friends of Mr and Mrs Price of Boss railway station, will hear with regret of the sudden death ol their throe year old son Keith Allred, which took place to-day. The little one was taken ill this morning and died about mid-day. A new post office will be opened on .Monday next, the 25)t.h inst., at Kaiata, the name of which wi'l I e Mount Bucklev. The present local name could not be adopted owing to its similarity to an office already established. It is suggested tligt tiie residents at Kaiata should get all their correspondence addressed to the name of the ofiice to prevent any possible delay. Mrs Pring lias been appointed Postmistress, having agreed to give her services gratuitously for the first six months. Mails will close at the Greymouth Office a* - - ■' a.m. daily. As was antiiepated the ball held at the. Three Mile on Thursday evening, proved a great success. The Hall was packed to its utmost. The waltzing competition in which great interest was taken, was won by Mr arid Mrs G. Bailie. Some very fine waltzers took part in the competition, the judge (Mr Adams) finding it very difficult to pick the winners. After the waltking event, supper was banded round and was clout full justice to. After supper dancing was recommenced and was kept going briskly until the wee sum hours, every one voting the ball one ol lie best F.xcollent music was supplied bv M l.awn and the duties of M.C. were ably carried out by Mr F, Breeze.
