POLLARD’S PICTURES. POLLARDS PICTURES AND DANCE RECITAL, MONDAY. On Monday Pollards arc presenting Louise Glaum in the most lavish, original and startling picture of the year entitled “Sex,” and in the second part of the programme Mr Fred Wauchop and Miss Ruby Wilding will appear and eive their second dance recital. “And I learned about women from her”—the oft-quoted lines of Kipling might have been inspired by Louise Glaum’s performance in the Parker Reade production “Sex,” showing on Monday next. Louise Glaum reveals a. few tilings about the feminine mind, and figure,— not generally known. A good story with an orginal twist, staged on a scalp of la.vishness and magnificence not often seen even on the screen, but its logic is so sound, and its moral so sure that the end justifies the means. Arresting and at times startling, “Sex” is a. picture that is calculated to make I any audience sit up and take notice. Yet withal it could give no offence to the most prudish; it has an unmistnkeable moral. Originality of treatment and some superb acting on the part of the star would alone make the picture worth while, without the display of regal splendour that has been introduced. Mcl-EAN’S PICTURES. ETHEL CLAYTON TO-NIGHT. This evening Mr McLean presents another capital programme, headed l>y the Paramount-Artcraft special “(Yoked Streets,” starring Ethel ('layton. Through crooked streets winding on through the mysteries of the “Paris ol the East,” Shanghai—by name and by nature, for into its reeking depths was dragged a beautiful flower of white womanhood. Fame of this fact .sped with amazing rapidity through the vile channels of the underworld, and on men were fighting and tearing each other’s throats for ibis wonderful prize. What did it all lend for 1 What could it lead to? A remarkably thrilling succession of breathless incidents founded on the facts of Miss Clayton’s actual abduction whilst recently touring the Fast. Tlie programme also includes a great Mack Sennett comedy. “Tt’s a Hoy.” an International News Gazette, in; 1 further chapters of the great serial “Vanishing Dagger.” with Eddie Polo in the chief role. The full orchestra will supply a choice musical programme.
