(Our own correspondent.) ROSS BOROUGH COUNCIL. The ordinary meeting of the Ross Borough Council took place on Friday evening. Present. Mr A. W. Upjohn (deputy Mayor in the chair), Crs. M. 0. .(ones, .1. Minehan. C. Black, D. Roherts, and J. Thomson. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed and the outward correspondence approved. IXWARD COR T? F/SRONT)RNCR. From Department of Internal Affairs re making by-law under the Fx plosive and Dangerous Goods Amendment. 1020 and forwarding copy of model by-law which if suitable for the Borough requirements might be adopted. Received. After perusal of same it was resolved to adopt the bv-lnw as forwarded. From Bank X.Z. re alteration in rate of interest charged on overdrafts.—Received. From Andersens’ Ltd. forwarding par ticnlars of road machinery.—Received. From Alines Department submitting list of Goldfields Revenue outstanding for some years and suggesting same niirrbt bo treated as non-recoverable.— Received. Resolved to accede to the request. From Agricultural Department approving of issue of .slaughtering license to ATatthew Nolan.—Received. From same stating application of ,Tas Thomson for slaughtering license had been referred to live stock division for report. Received. From Wcstlan/l Chamber of Commerce thanking Council for financial support towards maintenance of Otira Motor AT nil Service.. Received. From Treasure, notifying remittance of Goldfields Revenue for .Tune C 24 10s and fees and fines for quarter £2 3s.— Received. From Westland County Council asking suonort to their resolution urging Government to pav subsidy to Westland Board as originally simm-ested by
