As the result of a conference held ai n- Dunedin to-day respecting the direcl g- distribution of the public there is a a distinct probability that some satisfacs, tory method will be devised. The cony ference was attended by the .Mayor, and o representatives- of the City Council, Hoard of Trade, Harbour Board, Trades i- and Labour Council, Railway Departi- incut and Fishermen’s Union of Port hahiiers. The wliolp. matter of (he distribution of fish from trawlers to ihc public was exhaustively discussed, and it was decided that the most suitable place for the erection of n freezing . plant was at Port Chalmers. It was 1 decided to urge the Railway Departt meet to provide hotter facilities for (Jisohargiiig fish at Port Chalmers, and it f is also expected that better arrange- - meats will bo made for the transit of fish from Port Chalmers to Dunedin, j _ _ BLEND ELM AERODROME. BLENHEIM, Aug., 18 ■ Tiie work of erecting the hangar for i the,aerodrome being established near [ I’Jeiiiheiin, to provide for the proposed , aerial service between Christchurch and Blenheim has heed completed. The hangar is situated on the Omnka Domain and is about three miles from Blenheim. ; The domain is a municipal possession, , and the Borough Council arranged a short lease of the area required for the aerodrome. The building was erected at the instance of a citizen’s committee, appointed at a public meeting convened seme months ago by the .Marlborough PmgreKs Committee, and its cost was I met with a suiii of moiley subscribed ; by a number of Marlborough residents. ; The hangar'has a frontage* of -Rift and , a depth of 38ft, with n clearance in J front, of 13ft, and an elevation of 10ft. j in the tear. Those dimensions will pro- t vide space for the accommodation of , two aeroplanes of the ty|Kl proposed to he used iii the Cliristchiirch-Blenheim service.
