POLLARD’S PICTURES. TO-NIGHT’S BIG DISPLAY. To-night Pollards are presenting a big double feature programme headed bv the popular Norma Talmadge in “The Branded Woman” a First National release seven thousand feet) in length and Eugene O’Brien with Hub de Renier in “A Fool and his Money” a. five act drama produced by Selznick. “The Branded Woman” has plenty o' dramatic fervour, and furnishes Norma Talmadge with some of those opportunities that seldom come to a star. Her anting throughout is a triumph < contrasts, ranging, as it does throng! tribulation fighting for a husband’s am’ daughter’s love. The star is well on do wed with histrionic abilities and in her role of Ruth she runs the gaunt of all the emotions, putting up a better (showing than in any of her prove successes. “The Branded Woman” has many scenes that will be memorable. The second big feature is “A Fool and His Money” starring Eugene O’Brien and Ruby de Reiner. This is Eugene O’Brien’s fifth gelznick picture, and his acting is still at par. He shifts from the gay work of light comedy to the seriousness of drama with the ability which has made his a favourite. Mr O’Brien is ably supported by an excellent cast, headed by Ruby de Reiner. in the role of an American heiress who has kidnapped her little daughter and has fled from her divorced nobleman husband. He bad fqiind her hidden with her child in a deserted wing of tin' old castle. Could she explain 1 She did. And every word hurt, for li<> had learned to love this fair, frail “ghost”. Into their strange household an interloper came, with evil in his heart, and lies on his lips. Fighting mad! Could von wonder at a man seeing red! O’Brien hits out—flooding delightful romance with action that holds you through every moment of it.
