WEDDING BELLS.
CROPP—CLARK. I A very popular wedding was solemnised it the Presbyterian Church, Hokitika, on Wednesday, August 10th, by the Rev P. 11. Fraser. The contracting parties were Miss Myra Clark, eldest daughter of -Mr and Mrs I). ( lark, of Koite angi, and Mr William Cropp, second son of .Mr and Mis R. Cropp, of Kciterangi. The bride wlm was given, away by her father, wore a smart navy braided costume and wore a henna coloured feathered toque with touche*o! gold. She also carried a shower bouquet of spring flowers, heather and maiden hair fern, with streamers oi pale green tulle. She was attended by her sister Freda, who wore a very becoming costume of silver grey and spring hat of pale pink tulle and carried a bouquet of pink and white flowers. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, .Mr Albert Ciopp, as best man. Alter the ceremony the happy couple left tiie Church amidst showers of rice and confetti, for Preston’s Tea Rooms, where the bride’s parents entertained a number of guests and a very pleasant afternoon was spent, songs being rendered by .Miss Freda Clark and Mr Albeit Cropp. Afterwards Mr and Mrs W. Cropp left by the evening train en route for ( liristehuK !i where !.■ honeym.oii is being spent, carrying with them the good, wishes of a large circle of friends, testified by the number of congratulatory messages received. The presents were numeious and costly. MARTYN -HOLMES. A very pretty wedding was celebrated at Hokitika at 1.60 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. The ceremony was performed by the Rev Mr Purchas. .The contracting parties to Uie happy event were Caroline, youngest daughter of .Mrs J. Holmes, of Kumara, and Edward, the eldest son of Mr and Mrs E. Martyn. The bride, who looked a picture of 1 happiness, was given away by her brother John, and was neatly attired in a dainty frock of white crepe de Chine and wore the orthodox wreath and veil. She was attended by her niece. Miss .Monica Connolly, as bridesmaid. The bridegroom was attended by his brother William, as best man. After the ceremony the liapply couple adjourned to the residence of the bride’s sister, Mrs M. Connolly, where the wedding dejeneur was partaken of and the usual , toasts honoured. Mr and -Mrs Martyn kit by the evening train for Greymouth and north fora short honeymoon. Afterwards they will take up their residence : in Kumara. • 1
