TENNIS.
AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. THE DAVIS CUP (Received This Day at 8 a.m.) NEW YORK, Aug. 13. Tlie Danes were hardly the equals of th* Australians. The losers also worked under a disadvantage. They had never played on grass courts, and therefore constantly misjudged shots, and were unable to accommodate themselves to easy bouncing balls, and in attempting to learn the nin of the turf they bounced balls into • the nets and back-stop. Tho Australians’ win promotes them to the final, as they will meet the winners of the Indian-jTipan match at Newport on August 25th, 20th and 27th. The Japanese aro expected to win. in which ease the Australians’ task at Newport will not he an easy one.
