legacy duty. WELLINGTON, August 12. The question whether legacies to step-grandchildren arc to be subject to succession duty at the rate of two percent if the legatees were grand-children or at the rate of 10 per cent, was today decided by Mr Justice Sims in r ■ vour of the higher rate. The case was one in which the executor of the will of the late Mrs G. S. Andrew appealed against the assessment of the Commissioner of Stamps of succession duty on the estate of £45,960 left in equal shares to the grand-chil-dren of deceased’s. CABINET CHANGES.
