AMUSEMENTS.

POLLARD’S PICTURES. WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. Pollards arc screening to-night a big World film drama entitled “The Quickening Flame,” starring June Elvidge and Montagu Love. “The Quickening Flame” points several lessons apart from very capable studies of the two stars, Montague Love and Elvidge—one of which is that a man matrimonially bent should watch his step lest ,ho trip and come up with r wrong spouse. A domestic mixup is revealed in the plot, for as soon as the husband, repents of his hasty marriage and attempts to forget, along comes a genuine girl, and the bonds are tied up again. ' Tins is reasonable, as be is lei' to believe that wife number one has died. However, the report is, as Marl Twain said, greatly exaggerated, and wife number one turns up alive and kicking, and from then on the story takes a melodramatic, turn. Both star.', put up it fine showing in their Respective roles, and the production is till that could he desired. The supporting pictures to-night are unique of nature, Gaumont Graphic and a \ iDigraph comedy. On Thursday Margarita Fisher will he featured in a' Flying A drama entitled “Mollv of the Follies.” The supports include Topical Budget, cinema travels. “Squeaks and Squawks,” \ ilagrap! comedy, and the latest episode of the popular serial “The Silent Avenger, featuring William Duncan and Edith Johnstone.
