ARA I ICR A FAT STOCK SALE. At tho fortnightly fat stock fixture, held yesterday at Arahura, the yarding consisted of 125 fat shoe]) and 50 head of fat cattle, which were submitted to the usual attendance of buyers. Competition. however, was restricted, and prices rilling were much in sympathy with those recorded at the last sale. Only in the case of one or two lots was there a hardening tendency, and it docs not appear that the market is likely to firm very much, ns butchor s state they are able to get requirements from Addington, below tho prices received at the local yards. Messrs W. Jeffries and Co. sold as follows: On account Messrs A. and Mcßride. 35 fat ewes at 235. 20 ditto at 20s.ami 08 fat wethers at 24s Od ; on account Mr T. A. Condon. 2 Idles at £l3 12s Od. 4 at £l2. 1 at £l2 ss. 1 at £O. 1 lifr at £lO 17s Od, 2 at £0 ss. 2 at: C 8 17s Od. 2 at £8 7 S 6d, 3 at £7 12* fid; on account Mr E. Cron, 1 light cow at £7 ; on account Messrs Donovan Bros I hlk at £ll 7s fid. I at £lO ss, 2 at £lO 2s fid, 2 lifrs at £O. 4 at £fi 17s £fi 2s fid, and fi at £fi. ft was announced before the sale commenced that owing to the new railway time-table, which comes into operation next week, that in future tin? sales would have to ho held at Arahura in the forenoon. Tho exact hour of starling will he determined as soon as it is known the time of arrival of the Grey mouth train at Arahura station. This will be decided upon by the various auctioneers; who will notify their clients in tlie course of a, day or two.
