Still another instance of the long arm of the law lias Iwen brought to notice by the arrest in Napier on Thursday of a young mini who has been “wanted” by the police for nearly nine years. The charge on which he was arrested was that of the theft at Methven. Canterbury, on December 31st, 1912, of goods and money to the total value of £l2 15s. We regret to record the death at Christchurch yesterday, of Mr Harry Wickes, the well-known sawmiller, and one of the proprietors of the Tot aril Sawmill, Ross, that was burnt down some short time ago. < Deceased was a native of Greymouth and about 18 years of ago. Me leaves a wile and family of voting children and was brother of the late Air E. .4. Wickes of Greymouth. The deceased hail been identified for many years with the limber tiadc in different parts of -the West Coast, and gained the esteem of all who had dealings with him hv his business ability and integrity.
