UNGRATEFUL MONARCH
(Received This Day at 12.25 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 1. Herr Heinz’s book, relating to the ex-Kaiser's finances, points out that in addition to money large quantities of . plate were sent to Doom (Holland), ( including a thousand silver plates with knives, forks and spoons to match, 360 gilded plates, a collection of enormous epergne cases, and communion plates; also a silver font, the gift from the Queen of England. The book shows the Spartacists’ damage to the Palaces during the revolution was negligible. Although 'the revolutionaries requisitioned the horses from the Royal stables, wherewith to pull the field guns, they punctiliously returned some. Huge quantities of food, wine and cognac remained untouched throughout tlu> revolutionary occupation of the 1 royal Sehloss. ] The author points out that not a ( single palace official, many of whom ( served the Kaiser’s Court for a lifetime, • received a word of acknowlegdment or thanks from the ex-Kaiser.
