Cook replying to severe criticism of the Eederal Government in connection with tho purchase of NewZealand coal for the navy said that without New Zealand coal it uould he impossible to get full speed required for the warships. Replies received by the Australian \\ heat Board as to whether millers favoured au open market for flour export, or through the Board indicated that New South Wales and West Australia favour the Board for the present and Victoria South Australia an open market.
