WOOL SALES TN N.Z. WELLINGTON. July 2.'
Matters which formed ihe subject of a deputation representative ol the wool brokers, hanks, and shipping companies to the Acting Minister of Einance, have resulted in a resumption of wool sales in New Zealand, beginning with Dined in on August -Itli ; Invercargill, August 6th, and Timarti on a date to be fixed. It is understood tliai the wool buyers have accepted the terms of an offer made by the banks at the deputation referred to. and that they will tow cMime buying on tlmse terms.
SHEARERS’ DISPUTE. DUNEDIN. July 27
The Arbitrat ion Court, beard the shearers and shed hands dispute, but after the evidence, it was decided to defer the main issue still the principal final hearing of the ease at Wellington on August 25th. The Union claimed to he only asking to be placed on the same relative footing as ill 1914. The employers endeavoured to show that the prices now realised failed to deal 1 cost if production.

The importance of furthering the movement in connection with initiation of hoys agricultural clubs as carred out in Taranaki bv the Farmers’
Union was emphasised before a meeting of the Hoard of Agriculture, and the scheme lias the Hoard’s hearty. sup|>ort. It is proposed to circularise A. and P. Associations urging lie formation -of Clubs in different parts of the Dominion, where such do not exist. A suggestion was placed before the Board to have the Fencing Act amended to permit the use of lighter wire than is specified in the construction of a “sufficient” fence. This received full consideration, Init the Hoard is of opinion that further lengthy tests of lighter wire are required to establish the claims made for it. before any alteration is made in the Act.

.Frederick Bnyliss, a labourer, married, aged 10. living at Addington died to-day from injuries received by being crushed by a falling tree at Taitapu yesterday.

Samuel Patou, aged 51, a. widower, with five children, a waggoner was thrown from his seat to the road raeeiving injuries resulting in his death in the hospital. The brakes failed to hold descending a, hill and the vehicle ran away.
