Home make falling off, and market firm. Reduction in retail price has increased consumption. Finest Fnglirii firm at 14fis to 150 s per cwt (Is 3Jd to Is til per II)). New Zealand: Coloured. 130 s to 13 v per cut (Is 2d to Is 21d per lh). occasionally 13fis per ewt (Is 21(1 per lh) : white 131 s to 13fis per ewt (Is 2',d to Is 21d per Hi), and up to 140 s per cwt (G 3d per lb). Demand less active.
Canadian: Available stocks short Coloured 12fis to 132 s per ewt (Is l id to Is 2d per lh): white. 128 sto 134 s per ewt (Is l;dto Is 2' ( d per lh).
WOOL. Sales progressing. Principal activity from Continental buyers, though ffnmr trade shows more interest than at commencement. Fine merinos slight improvement on opening rates. Offering New Zealand ernss-breds large, generally selling freely at the decline, with price for inferior irregular. Slipe mostly withdrawn. Pair quantity l’nnta .Arenas crossbreds taken for Continent, at .lime rates or better. This week's R.A.W.R.A. offerings consist of Australian merinos, greasy 12.000. scoured 310(1 bales: crossbreds, greasy 4800. scoured 1200 bales; New Zealand crossbreds, greasy 4400, scoured 1750, slipe 1400 bales.
HEMP. Manila market very quiet, and price easier. “J” grade July-September ship quoted £35 10s per ton at beginning of week .but 'there are sellers fn-dav at £35 10s. buyers about £34 10s. New Zealand quiet-. Early this week there was an advancing tendency, and small sales reported. Highpoints £36 10s, fair £34 per ton July-Septem-ber shipment. Demand dropped off later, and quotations now about £35 and £32 IDs per-ton respectively.
