Automobile Association.

WESTLAND BRANCH. A meeting of the above was held on the 23rd in the County Chambers at 8 p.m. There were present Mr Davidson (Chairman), .Messrs Ford, Stuart, Settle. Williams, Perham and C. M. Malfroy (( hristelmreh). The minutes were read and confirmed. Mr C. M. Malfroy handed in his resignation as delegate in Christchurch to this Branch, explaining that pressure of other business and his likely change of residence from Christchurch compelled him to take this step, but regretted having to do so as lie always took a keen interest in automobile mat-

ters. - J The Chairman in moving that Mr , Mallroy’s resignation be accepted paid tribute to Mr Malfroy’s past services, . adding that lie had done everything possible for the Association and his resignation was to he accepted with regret.

It was moved hy Mr Williams ami seconded by Mi’ Seale that Dr TeichelM»uin bo appointed Glirislchureh delegate in place of Mr Malfroy. Dr Teioholmann having signified his willingness to accept the position.—Cavi ied.

A letter from the Canterbury Automobile Association stating that the Hokitika Chamber of Commerce had approached them for a grant of £SO towards the approaches to the Little Wanganui bridge, and asking this Association to send a .report on the matter, it was resolved to confirm the report already sent, in by the Chairman and Secretary previous to the meeting which practically recommended the grant making certain stipulations.

Mr James blende, Pukekura. wrote drawing attention to rough metal spread and not blinded on part of the south road, hut communicated again at a later date to say the trouble had been remedied.

Alter various other matters were dealt with and accounts passed for payment, the meeting closed at 10 p.m.
