VUSTHALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. HEENEY BEATS COLE. GISBORNE, July 24. A boxing contest between Jack Cole (Australia) and Tom Heeney, heavyweight champion of New Zealand, was hold at Tekaraka on Saturday. It was the initial tourney held under the auspices of the Waikohu Boxing Association, and the contest was held in .a big tent, about twelve hundred people being present. The fight went the full distance and the decision of the Referee (Bert Lowe) favoured Heeney.
