FOOTBALL

WESTLAND SUB UNION. The weekly meeting of the Union took place on Wednesday last at 8 p.m. Present.—Messrs F. McGregor (President), 1). Dowell, Gillooly, Marker, Breeze, Cuthush, Seebeek, Heslnn, O’Brien, A. Dowell, Askew, Hagai*, Woods and Hoe nan (Secretary).

Resolved to write the W.C.R.U. to obtain a list of two players’ expenses to Buffer and to pay the players out of pocket expenses.

The sub-Union resolved to do its utmost to raise funds to send the, West Coast team to Marlborough to try eonelusions for the Seddon Shield. Ross Club wrote expressing its willingness to carry on the competition, and also asking for power to arrange their matches with country teams.— Granted, subject to opposing teams being agreeable. Kumar,a, Club wrote in answer to Union’s letter stating Kumarn officials always did their best to assist the Union’s officials.

Tho Union was experiencing a c eulty to get a referee to act next Saturday’s match at Kumara. Resolved to let the teams come to an agreement.

The Kumara Club to bo asked to apologise for thoidiscourteous reply to reived in answer to the Union’s letter.

Members of Union were appointed to assist gatekeepers.

Referees:—Excelsiors v. Ross at Ross Mr A. Cutbush.

Kilim v. Kiwis at Hokitika. Air A 1 Houston JUNIORS. Rimu v. Kiwis at Rimu, Mr R Moore,

Ross, v. Kokatahi at Ross, Mr F. Mitohelb W. Steele was mutually agreed on for the match at Kumara. A letter from Auckland Referees’ Association asking co-operation of local body in securing stand complimentary tickets for active referees, was referred to AV.C.R.U.

Kokatahi Club protest was dealt with and after discussion the protest was dismissed. The meeting then closed.
