Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their slock sale yegtci* day: Store sheep.—A medium yarding, mostly ewes in lamb, which were firm throughout, especially for best sorts. Best 4,6, anil 8-tooth ewes, 21s to 265; others, from 14s to 18s 6d; older and failing 8s 6(1 to 12s Od. No really outstanding lines of ewes were offering. Best wethers 14s 6d to 16s (id: best ewe hoggets up to 14s 6d, M.S. hoggets 9s to 12s 3d, smaller 6s upwards. Store cattle.—A fairly large entry of all classes and good demand for best sorts. 3 and 4 years forward bullocks to £ll ; others £7 15s to £9 2s 6d; 2 year-olds, £4 to £5 7s 6(1; yearlings and 18-months old, £2 16s to £3 ss. Best cows. £2 10s to £5 ss; others 12s 6d to 355. There was more animation in this departent than there has been for some time
Beef.—-The yarding was considerably smaller and the market consequently a good deal firmer. The quality, with the exception of a, few good lots was generally indifferent. Prime steers. £ls to £lB 10s ;extra prime to £25 7s Od; medium. "£ll to £l4 10s; others £8 10s to £lO I.os. Prime heifers £lO to £l3 15s; extra prime to £l4 17s 6d; others £6 to £lO. Prime cows £9 to £l3 : extra prime to £l4 ss; others £5 to £8 10s.
Mutton.—The largest yarding for some considerable time, including some exceptionally good sheep and also a 1a re proportion of very indifferent sorts. Owing to the large entry the market generally was easier, more especially for medium and inferior sorts. Good sheep did not show much difference. Prime wethers 21s to 26s 6d; extra prime 27s to 35s 7d, medium 17s to 20s 6d; lighter and graziers, 15s 6(1 to 1.6 s fid; best ewes 18s to 235; good 15s Od to 17s (id: lighter and inferior 11s 6d to 15s.
LONDON WOOL SALES
AND N. 7.. CAULK ASSOCIATION. LONDON. July 19. At the Bawra wool sales in London, there was a good demand for merinos, especially for pieces and hollies at fully last week’s rates. Continental buyers were the chief operators. Scoured sorts were froquentlv withdrawn, owing to high reserve limits. There was a poor select ion of crossbreds, a<nd prices were unchanged. Stipes sold fairly well at lale rales.

Tlv first of the series of 1921-22 wool sries has dosed after an excellent clearance, and an animated maikol. lie.si merinos were weaker. Other descriptions were unchanged.
