LATE LOCALS.
After nineteen years’ political life ; Air F. Mander, the sitting member for Marsden, lias announced his intention of retiring from active political life at the end of the present Parliament. Air G. S. B. Morrison, of Alaungatapere, has been selected to represent the Reform interest at the next election in the stead of the retiring member. It was explained by Mr T. Lisle, Reform organiser, that the selected candidate would lie recognised officially by the Reform Party. Air Aforrison, who is 52 years of age, came from North Canterbury and settled at Alaimgatapere about 1907. He has been a prominent official of the Farmers’ Union. Air Francis Mander was elected to the House of Represents- j tives ns member for Marsden in 1902, and has represented that constituency as a supporter of the Reform Party j ever since. He was bom in Onehunga in 1848, his parents being among the | carlv settlers in the Dominion. j
