Two more wickets quickly fell, hut Hendry and Oldfield added 46 before the former got out playing hack to 'a well pitched ball on th ( , log stump. Oldfield returned one hard to Doggart’s loft hand, hut escaped and carried his hat. Five wick cts were disposed of in an hour this morning, tho innings closing at 267. /LONDON, July 18.
Ryder was run out through Mayne playing a ball hard to deep point. Ryder ran, but Mayne never moved and the former trying to get hack, slipped and fell. Mavnc was caught first ball in tho next over. Hendry hatted well, but the County fielding was excellent. When Durham went in again MacDonald and Hendry were the first bowlers. They mot with immediate success four wickets being down for 47. Scott, Page and Doggart stopped the rot and advanced the total to 66, causing Macartney and Mailey to come oil. Hie hitters advent was fatal to Seott-Page and the innings closed for 121. The Australians made the runs required without loss. Durham’s innings were continued and McDonald was brought on again and bowled Sqnanee. and though DoggArt held his ground tho rest- of the side failed and all were out for 121. Collins and Mayne made 24 without ioss and the Australians won by ten wickets.
