He said that 176,000 houses had now been approved, the actual cost of which to date was going to he £155,000,000. The Government had therefore, decided to limit the subsidies to this 176,000. _ The Labour Party followed m criticism. Dr Addison tendered the Government bis resignation. The Labour Party tabled a motion of censure on the Government on the grounds that the intention of the Government to curtail its financial obligations is a gross breach of faith, and .one that means bringing Parliament into contempt.
