The Financial Position. The general position is one calling for careful attention by the banks. They have bad to stand by both the importers and producers, and have had calls for accommodation far in excess of normal requirements; howevei, importation is being severely restricted, and both wholesalers and retailers are endeavouring to reduce stocks. In a few months, therefore, we should see an improvement in the position, and a start towards more normal financial conditions. Tim movement must of necessity he gradual, but we expect fo sec il continue fairly steadily
