ADJINCTON STOCK MARKET. AN EASIER. MARKET. (0 y Telegraph.— Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Dry. Messrs Matson and Co. report- as follows regarding their stock sale yesterday:— Store Sheep—A medium entry which comprised a mixed assortment. All wethers and lmggets were easier but till classes of ewes were firmer. Best 4, f! and 8 tooth ewes from 23/(1 to 26/9; others from 14/6 to 20/-; failing months from 8/6 to 12/-; best wethers from 15/6 to 16/-; others front 13/- to 14/6. Best hoggets from 10/6 to 12/-, others from 7/6 to 10/-; smaller sorts 1/6 to 6/-.

Store cattle - A small yarding but a better demand all round, except for potters which were hard to quit. There were no outstanding lines offering. Three years old steers £6 to £7/17/6; 2 years old steers £3/15/- to £4/12 6; Yearlings to 18 months old, £1 15/- Io £3/2'6. Cows, best £2/10/- to £I : otelirs 10/- to 35/-. The general quality of the yarding was below the average. Beef—A very large yarding and the market- was easier all round, especially for indifferent quality. Prime steers £ls to £lB/12/6, one pen of extra good making £24/2/6; medium £lO/15/- to £1.4/10/-; light and unfinished £8 to £lO. Prime heifers £lO to £l4/10/-; extra good to £lB/12/6; medium £7/5/to £9; others £5/15/- to £7. Prime cows £8 to £l2/10/-; extra to £lO/5 -; others £4/10/- to £7/5/-.

Mutton—A large yarding and the quality ivas very' mixed, and included a few outstanding consignments, but also a large proportion of inferior sorts. The market generally was easier especially for unfinished lots. Prime wethers, 22/- to 28/-, extra prime 29/- to 33/6. One consignment- of show wethers made 51/- to 64/-; medium 18/6 to 21/-; light and graziers 16/6 to 17/9; best ewes, 19/- to 24/6; extra- special to 41/-; good 16/6 to 18/6; lighter mutton and inferior 13/- to 15/9. Tn the absence of freezing buyers rather many sheep wore yarded for butchers requirements. R
