POLLARD’S PICTURES. A BIG DISPLAY TO-NIGHT. To-night at the Princess Theatre Pollards have, very great pleasure in presenting a programme suitable for young and old alike, the big circus picture “Tloop-La” should not b e missed by any child in Hokitika, while the older ones are catered for in a big Vitagrapk Drama starring Nell Shipman who will 1m remembered for her fine work in “Back to God’s Country.” She plays the lead to-night in “A Gentleman Agreement” a. Vftagraph Drama. William Duncan and Edith Johnston will also be screened in the “Silenx Avenger” the popular serial. Every one who has ever felt the seductive attraction of the circus, and the thrill that the news “the circus is coming” has raised, will enjoy the programme to-night with dainty little Billie Rhodes in “Hoop La.” The charming little star has an enacting role, and shows wonderful versatility in her role of Hoop La. Charteris. She is equestrienne, trapeze artist, clown, and dancer, and society debutante, in all of which she is equally at homo. Such a dainty little personage as the diminutive Billie is a delight tfl all eyes in a. character like this, and the small star will make many now friends for her work in this picture with the tang of sawdust, and the glamour of the big top. PEOPLES PICTURES. TOM MIX TO-NIGHT. a At the Westland Opera House to night the People’s Pictures present all the elements that go to make a fine photplay—a charming love story, a strong cast and a star who is a wonder in his sphere in the “The Speed Maniac,” latest vehicle of the William Fox Star Tom Mix. Thero’s nothing more charming than the way Tom Mix makes love, and there’s nothing quite so thrilling and hair-raising as his stunts—which reveal not only a man c-f unusual nerve and muscle, but an actor of fine brain and imagination. There’s a ii>al auto race in this play,'a real boxing match, a real runaway and rescue, an element of mystery that holds throughout the story, and Tom Mix’s beautiful horse Tonjv. Tom Mix is a star that no true lover of motion pictures can affoixl to miss.
