At the meeting of the Council of the Canterbury Automobile Association, on Tuesday, tbe Hokitika branch of the Association wrote asking tbe Council to make a grant of-toll towards the cost of erecting three spans of a bridge over the Little Wanganui river. Mr F. Sargent said that a large number of tourists visited the Franz Joseph Glacier, and the erection of a bridge over the rivcj. would be a great convenience. .Mr J. Brown said that he had visited the place twice, and he considered the scenery glorious. He thought they should do all they ootild to encourage tourists to visit that part of the country, and lie would suggest the Council should set the hall rolling by making a grant of USO, provided Co other L 250 was found.
