BOROUGH BYE LAWS. Charles Gibbons, Borough Inspector (Mr. Park) v. AV. H. Breeze, a charge ol allowing 2 horses to wander. lined 10s and costs 7s. Same v. J). H. Stapleton, 1 horse. Defendant explained the horse had got away from him when it was being taken from tlie paddock. Convicted and fined the costs 7s. Same v, F. AA*. Thompson. 1. horse. Fined 10s and costs 7s. Same v. H. Jones, 1 heifer. I'ined the costs 7s. Same v. T. Robinson, junr.. a charge of driving a motor lorry in Stafford street without a light, after sunset. Defendant denied the charge. The Inspector gave evidence that there was no visible light, at 8.30 p.m. Defend•ant stated he had come from Kumara but found someone had interfered with the gas of his lamp. Convicted and lined 5s and costs 7s. Same v. AA r . Barrowtnan, a charge of allowing 1 cow to wander. Fined 10s and costs 7s. COUNTY RANGER. Walter Thomson, County Ranger (-Air Park) v. Charles Pfahlert, a charge of allowing 3 calves to wander on Hau Hau road. Convicted and fined 18s. (An allowance of £2 2s was allowed to Counsel divided up among fine and costs of all cases). Same v. G. H. Blank. 3 cows, was withdrawn. Samo v. T. Robinson, junr.. 1 cow and 1 calf on Kanieri road. Convicted and fined 18s.

Same v. A. Rhodes, 1 horse on main road, Woodstock. After hearing explanation qf defendant the information was dismissed. .
Same v. T. Harris, 1 cow on Kanien main roa<l. Convicted .and fined 18s. Same v. F. Parker, 2 calves on Arthurstown road. Convicted am fined 18s. Same v. K. Winter, l liorse on Kinm road. Convicted and fined 18». Same v. E. Growcott, 1 liorse at Kinni. Defendant denied ownership, though he would not deny he had told the Hanger that lie was the owner. Information dismissed, the Magis ra ‘ stating if he had the power to fine the defendant lie would do so for giving wrong information to the Hanger. c advised him next time when asked as to ownership to tell the truth.
