LONDON, July (i While no official truce has been arranged, ii is considered in well informed circles that the Dublin Conference has paved its way to a very definite understanding which may he reached’ if De Valera attends the London Conference. It is recognised it may he difficult to control isolated members of the Republican Army, blit there has been a gradual easing up bv the Crown of all measures of repression. Sinn Fein assurance of a similar suspension will he welcomed.
SHOT DEAD. (Received This Dav at 9.40 n.r LONDON, July (5. Teresa MeAimff, * school mistress, was shot dead at her mother’s home at No wry. Armed men demanded her brother whom they requested to sign a promise not to participate in ambushes. McAmiff complied, and the deceased also offered to sign, but was told it was unnecessary, and was immediately shot. Mrs Fagan, of Drumlough, was shot in the hands and breast under similar circumstances. Her wounds are not expected to prove fatal. (Received This Dav at 10.15 a.in.) - LONDON, July (5. Bold Middleton and General Woods have returned to London and presented Lloyd George with a personal report on the Dublin Conference, ft is also understood they conveyed a sealed letter from De Valera, answering certain enquiries which the Premier authorised Lord Middleton to make. Lord Middleton interviewed, said the Conference is open, that’s the great thing. I think there would not have been a chance, but for our conference with De Valera. De Valera is understood to lie seeking for certain information, and when obtained tho Conference will he resumed.
