A force of Auxiliaries when patrolling surprised a party of Sinn heiners lying behind a railway embankment near CaStlcbayney. The Auxiliaries fired on them. They killed two, and captured the remainder, several of whom were wounded. They also captured 12 guns and a quantity of ammunition. AN AM HUSH. (Received This l)ay at 8 a.in.) London, juU- 2. Thirty men ambushed seven constables near Sligo, wounded one and captured two whom they afterwards murdered in cold blood. De Valera, in a proclamation on behalf of the Dai) Eireann says the flag „f United; States will he officially honoured throughout Ireland on Monday, in appreciation of the sympathy and aid given the Irish people by friends in the United States. .At Kent Assizes William Robinson was sentenced to twelve years and three other Sinn Feiners to ten years, on charges of shooting at the police with intent to murder, while escaping in a taxi-cab near Hromlcy after cutting telegraph wires. At Newcastle Assizes, Sinn Feiners, Janies Conrov and Owen Salmon were sentenced to seven years and John Me A lesson to five years for arson. Sergt Johnson and constable Hill were killed and five other constables wounded, in an ambush at Ooln, County Limerick. Constable Shelster was shot dead at Ranslia, Tipperary. Seven police were ambushed at RalIvgar, Galway, and throe wounded. I Armed men look Francis Sullivan I from his home at Ross'carherry, Cork. His dead body was subsequently found nearby.
