POLLARD’S HGIURES. GABY JJESLYS MONDAY. On Monday next at the Princess Theatre, Pollards arc. presenting the popular Gaby Deslsy in “The God ol Luck” her latest and greatest French production. The name of Gaby Deslys is synonymous with all that is fascinating and beautiful, and her last and greatest production “The God of Luck” forms a perfect and artistic setting to the brilliance and magnetic personality of the tiny, fragile star. It may well lay claim to being one of France’s greatest productions,, as- well as being unique for the character-portrait it leaves of one of the most fascinating actresses and dancers that ever beguiled three continents. The dancing scenes where Gaby is seen with her partner Harry Piker; who plays the lover in the story, are - aesthetically beautiful, and it is wonderful to see the energy and acrobatics that this dainty, fragile .little being puts into her work. Scenes taken at Deauville, and the classic French racecourse; with its “Grand-. Frix” race, arc universally interesting and convincingly woven into the story. Pollards have pleasure in announcing the coming soon to Hokitika of Carrie Laiicele'y and her musical maids. McLEAN’S PICTURES, “UNDER * -NORTHERN LIGHTS” TO-NIGHT. 31 r McLean presents this evening a grand programme. The main picture is" a Universal “Under Northern Lights,” with an all star cast, which tolls the story of Dougins McLeod, a young constable in the R.N.W.P. who Foucharde. It is with the return of Jacques Foucharde, Suzanne’s brother from Alaska that his troubles begin. Flushed with gold found in the Yukon Jacques gets into a card game with La Raque, a. professional gambler and unscrupulous character who cheats the young fellow. A fight ensues in which La Raque is killed. There is no work more thrilling, nor position requiring more daring than that of a private or -officer in the Royal North West Mount"ed Police. These Canadian guardians of the law are known the world over for their courage and resourcefulness, and the history of the organisation is one of endless hazard and romance.
The supports include a capital Century comedy “Bearskin Beauties,” Magazine, and further chapters of the great serial “Elmo the Fearless.”
