OBITUARY

We sincerely regret to record the painfully sudden death ot Air Geoige Robinson, the well-known stock agent, of Greymouth. which took place last night at about 9.45 o’clock at his bouse, Shakespeare Street. The deceased, who was a man of about 50 years ot age, and a native ol Hokitika (where his fatliet. the late Henry Robinson was at one time Mayor and a leading citizen) had in past years been identified with the linn of Mark Sprot and Co., for whom ho conducted many transactions in stock and prod tug' all over the Coast, l'oi some years past lie had been in business on his own account-. On Saturday -Mr Robinson was in his usual good health, and paid a visit to Kokatahi. returning in the evening. Aesterday there was no sign of any illness, till about half-an-hour before his death. He retired at 9 p.m. and soon alter Mrs Robinson found him in an unconscious state. Though medical aid was summoned, it was found that nothing to aid the sufferer could he done, and death ensued before 10 o’clock. The late Mr Robinson was a most genial personality, and was an especially well-informed stock den!..■■• and a good judge of cattle and sheep, lie leaves behind a wife, and a family of seven, five soils and two daughters, three of the sons being urnwu up. Mr W. 11. Robinson, timber merchant of Christchurch is a brother of the deceased, who also lias three brothers in other parts of the Dominion, Messrs E. IT., H. and J. Robinson, as well as two married sisters. The bereaved wife and family will have the sincere sympathy of the community in their sudden and great bereavement-.
