CONCERT AND BALLAT KANIERI.

'Cue concert and ball hold at Kanieri <m Wednesday evening, was a most successful affair, a large attendance being present, and the various items on the programme met with a hearty reception. A special item on the programme was a couple of musical items by McLean’s Orchestra, which was greatly appreciated by the audience. During the evening Mr F. W. Selby, Chairman of the School Committee, returned thanks to all those who had assisted in making the entertainment a success, especially thanking the members of McLean’s Orchestra for their kindness in coming out to assist ; also thanking Misses M. Cummings, I. Morris and C. Morris, the voting ladies who had organised the entertainment. The hall which followed, was largely attended, dancing room being at a premium. The music was supplied by Knvvett, assisted during the evening by Mrs McFadyen, Messrs W. McFadyen and Rutherford. Mr A. Rooney had charge of the floor and carried out his duties faithfully.

The programme was ns follows: Overture, McLean’s Orchestra: chorus. “Gliding through the Meadow,” scholars; duet, Misses F. and M. Parker; solo’ Mr Fndycn; Sean Truibhais.

Misses Gibbons and McTntosh ; song, Misses Cummings and Morris; sword dance, Master Les Gibbons; solo, Miss Avson ; chorus, “Golden Slumbers,”, scholars ; dance, “Baggy Breeches,” Misses Alva Mclntosh and Gibbons; selection, McLean’s Orchestra ; God Save the King.
