Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their slock sole day:Beef—A very large yarding, nearly 500 head being pinned. The market generally was easier in c onsequesce, especially for indifferent quality, any anything good did not show the same decline. Rest steers, £l9/10/- to £23/5/-; prime £ls/10/- to £l9; medium £l2 to £ls; others £7/5/- to £11; Prime heifers, £lO/10/- to £l3/0/0;' Extra good to £2O: others £7/15/- to £7/15/- to £9 15/.. Cows, prime £D to £l2/5/-; extra good to £ls/15/- ; lighter and inferior £5/5 - to £B/lo ( ,-. Store Cattle—A fair yarding, one or two decent lines of steers being yarded. One very nice line of 3 vrs. steers made £7/2 0; host 3 and 4 years steers l 0 15/- to £7/17/6; 2 years old £l/10/- to £5/5-; yearlings 25/- to 32/6; good young cows, £3 10/- to £4/15/-; others 15/- to 25/-. Store Sheep A similar seized yarding to last week, and very little alteration in the market. Wethers, perhaps were slightly easier. There was a good demand for best class sound month ewes. Rest wethers 15/- to 17/-: medium sorts 13/- to' 11 6; others 10/0 to 12/0: best S.M. ewes 15- to 17/0: others 12/- to ] !/-; failing mouths and low condition, 7 0 to 11/-. No good lines of young ewes were yarded. Rest lambs 10/6 to 11/9; medium 8/6 to 10'-; others from 5/6. Mutton—The yarding was bigger than last week and the quality more mixed. The market generally was easier all round, especially towards the end. when butchers requirement had been filled. Some excellent lines of wethers wore yarded. Rest wethers to 31/-, prime 20/6 to 17/-; medium 17/- to 20/-; others 15/- to 10/9. Graziers were operating freely on this class. Ewes wore about the same parity and lambs wore very firm.
