(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. —OOPYKISHI. A SUDDEN DEATH. ASHBURTON, June 19. James Glassey, fifty-nine years, a retired farmer, died suddenly during service at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church this morning. During prayer, deceased had a seizure, and was assisted from the building. Artificial respiration was tried, but Mr Glassey expired almost immediately. Until recently Air Glassey was farming at Win chin ore, and was a well-known and successful exhibitor of fat stock, an A. and P. committeeman and prominent Orangeman. He leaves a widow and ulult family. An inquest will be held to-morrow. SHOT WITH A GUN. CARTERTON, June 20 0. Worslev, manager of the Kahutarn dairy factory, when removing a shot-gun from a boat on Friday last, accidentally caught the hammers on a thwart. The gun exploded, and blew away the tissues of Worslev’s wrist, and pellets entered and badly lacerated the muscles of bis upper arm. Dirt and grass were also blown into the wound. Worslev was taken to the Grey town Hospital, where lie is doing well. A DTVORCE CASE. WELLINGTON, June 18 Another story of an unhappy, marriage was told at the Supreme Court, before Sir John Salmond, this morning, when James Fnrniss sought to obtain a dissolution oi bis marriage with Agnes Fnrniss on the ground of her misconduct with one John William Barclay, an architect’s works overseer, whose disappearance from Wellington a couple of years ago caused a mild sensation. The petitioner stated that lie married an English nurse while undergoing hospital treatment at Sheffield in 1916, but was transferred to another hospital within a few hours ot bis marriage. Some months later be sailed .or New Zealand, and bis wife came out a couple of vears later. Petitioner went to Auckland to meet her, but owing to a mistake as to the time of arrival of the boat, lie missed her, though be met her down the Main Trunk Line. She refused to accompany him to bis home, some miles out from bluntly, and came on -to Wellington. • For a time she was a hoarder with Mr and Mrs Barclay, but tlimi disappeared, as did Barclay. Nine months later it was ascertained that the respondent and co-respondent were living at Christchurch as man and wife. After hearing corroborative evidence, bis Honour made the usual orders as to a decree, nisi and costs.
