COMMONWEALTH CENSUS. ' SYDNEY, June 17
The census figures disclosed males in the Commonwealth number 2,751,781, and females 2,667,921. The grand totals are exclusive of full blooded natives, the returns for the territorise not being available.
SYDNEY, June 17
Tlie total increase of population in the Commonwealth exclusive of fullblooded natives, in the last ten years, was 969,721, whereof New South Wales had 449,659, Victoria 214,563, Queensland 141,760, South Australia 86,309, Westralia 47,114, Tasmania 22,326. The increase equals 41.07 per cent.
DR COPE’S EXPEDITION

The ‘ Herald” states advice has been received in Sydney to the effect that Cope’s expedition has reached Grahams Land, Antarctica. A considerable partjt, if not the whole force, landed at Android Bay on the I.2th January and got a hut ashore. The landing place is a big penguin rookery which was taken as an indication that the expedition intends to a considerableeX' tent to rely op penguins and stale meat for food,
