WESTLAND SUB UNION
The meeting of the Sub-union was held last evening. Present: Messrs F. McGregor (chair), Gilloly, Woods, Dowell, Moore, Seebeek, llagur, Breeze, Marker, Heslati, O’Brien and Meeuan. The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed. Application from C. 11. Stevens for reinstatement was granted. pdegates to conference in Greyniouth were appointed: —F. McGregor, E. W. Heenan atid selectors. M. Houston was appointed Manager of representative team. The selectors will travel with the team. Mr D. Dowell was appointed touch judge.' All members of the rep team must play in white trousers. It was resovod to ask Council to proclaim two hours’ holiday on Saturday June 25th from 3 to 5 o’clock; also fo r permission to use grounds. Last Saturday’s gate receipts amounted to £2 11s. W. O’Brien’s notice of motion wns moved at last night’s meeting asking to rescind minute allowing Referees’ Association permission to recommend referees, and was lost by 2 for and 11 against. Notice of motion from last meeting by Ross Club to have Union meeting on Saturday wns lost, For 0, Against 15. The Insurance Committee reported tho scheme was in operation and presented rules. 0. Hahn was placed on the benefit j
list through injury in Town v. Country match. The Union resolved to vote £5 5s to insurance fund. It was unanimously agreed to deposit all funds in Savings Bank. All members of the Rep. team must be on station at 11.45 on Saturday. Junior fixtures for Saturday: Kiwis v. Excelsiors at 3 p.m., Cass Square.—Mr Conning referee. Kokatahi v. Rimu at Kokatahi. Referee to he appointed b,v delegates of both clubs. The meeting then concluded.
The following will represent Excelsior juniors in their match with Kiwi juniors in Cass Square next Saturday at 3 p.m. —Nightingale (2), Macfnrlane, Aitken (2), Pierson, Gibbons, Rutland, Thompson, Perham, Haussmann, Preston, Montagu (2), Shaw. Emergencies— Baird, Telford, McDonald. The following will represent Kokatahi juniors against Rimu at Kokatahi on Saturday June 18th.—Schist, Cropp, C. Fleming, C. Cropp, Stopforth, .Jiohnston, Karnbach, Dowell, O’Brien, Stopforth, Woolliouse, Morel, Fleming, Schroder, Smith. Emergencies—Curtin, Morel.
