The “Daily Chronicle” gives prominence to the proposal that the newly elected members of the northern and southern Parliaments should be peimitted to meet under a truce to appoint delegates with a view to agreeing to a settlement, including if possible full fiscal autonomy and control of their respective police forces. A party of men took out Dean Finla\ aged eighty years, living in retirement at Dawnbog, Cavan, from his home and murdered him and then burnt the house to the ground. ■
