ARAHURA FAT StOCK SALE
At yesterday’s fortnightly fixture at above yards the yarding consisted of 160 fat sheep, 40 fat lambs and 35 head of fat cattle. The weather conditions for the sale were shocking and the stock all of which were prime, were looking very miserable. Despite this competition was keen and it was generally admitted that beef and mutton improved in prices compared with recent sales. Mutton was distinctly, firm, while lambs sold well. Messrs Jeffries and Co. report the following sales: — On account E. ’ Chinn 20 two-tooth wethers at 18s'9d. On account H. Monk, 20 prime lambs at 19s 4d, and 20 ditto at 19s 3d. On account K. Nolan, 60 ewes and wethers at 17s fid. On account J. McGregor Go ewes and wethers at 22s 3d, and 20 ditto at 20s. On account E. Cron 1 fat bullock at £l6; 4 at £ll 10s, 3 cows at £lO 2s 6d, 2at £lO, 2 heifers at £lO 15s, 3 at £9, 2 at £8 10s, 2 at £7 15s, 2 at £7. On account W. Olderog, 2 vealers at £2 15s, 2at £3 2s 6d, 1 cow at £6, 2 at £5, 1 at £4, 1 at £3 2s6d.
