DE ROUGEMONT’S END
(Received This Day at 10.40 a.m.V LONDON, June 12 De Rougemont died under the name of Louis Redmond. He suffered from an internal complaint brought on by a tube accident. For some years, be had been living quietly in London. He had a large circle of. friends and maintained an extraordnary mental vigor till the end. During the war he invented a patent food to take the place of meat.. Part of his income was derived .from the proceeds of this idea. He mairied in 1915, the widow of a French stockbroker. The newspapers lengthily recall his career and refer to him as the world’s greatest liar.
JOHN CALVIN’S GRAVE. LONDON, June 12. Eugene Speyr, the last descendant of a Swiss family, lias revealed to the Council of the Protestant Church at Geneva, the exact spot where John Calvin was buried in Plainpalais cemetery. The information was handed down from father to son for generations. The church is undertaking excavations in the hope of recovering his bible and • ring. RUSSIAN DENIAL.
