HOKITIKA HARBOUR BOARD

THURSDAY, JUNE 10th., 1921.

The Board met at 4 p.m. Present Messrs G. A. Wood (Chairman), J • Lloyd, F. McGergor, T. W. Bruee and C. J. Nightingale. The minutes of the previous meeting wero rfeSkl and confirmed and outward correspondence approved. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE.

From K. H. Jack, Wellington, asking for infgormation as to conditions of the bar all the year round.—Received, and information supplied. From Manager, Bank of New Zealand, notifying rate of interest on advances up to 7 per cent. —Received. From Inspector of Machinery, Wellington, asking for information as to election of members to the Board.—Received and attended to. From State Advances, Department, Wellington, notifying instalment was incorrectly stated, and rectifying same. —Received. From Mrs Bock, Wellington, forwarding rates due.—Received. Froin H. Linklater, Waitaha, re arrears on rates while away at the war.— Remit granted. From J. McSherry, Greymouth, remitting rates. —Receiv ed. From»M. Graham, Kokatahi, forwarding rates—Received. From J. Minehan Ross, asking for details as to rates owing.— Received. From Lands and Survey Department, giving information as to tenure of land, where late signal cottage stood. Deceived. 'l’he acting harbormaster reported as follows. —1 beg to report that during last month we had two small floods. The Channel is running straight to sea, carrying 13 feet of water at high water, with an average depth of 12 feet during the last 1G days. The approach to the training wall is in a very bad state of repair.—Received. Several small accounts were presented and certified to and passed for payment. The Chairman by leave moved in Clause 100 of Port Dues, after the words “per ton register” to add “The minimum charge to be 10s per trip. Carried unanimously. It was resolved to hold the wharf repairs in abeyance for the present, the portion dismantled to be securely fenced. The repairs t otlie shed and other small repairs to'he effected as soon as timber and carpenters are available. The Board then adjourned
