ENGLISH SPORT ROOMING. (Received This Day at 10.40 a.m.) LONDON, June 8. Sport is booming in England, partly as the result of military training and games being organised behind the lines. It is estimated that fifty thousand are playing cricket in Greater London, and sixty thousand at lawn tennis, the fatter is experiencing the greatest boom in its History', resulting in a temporary shortage of balls and racquets, and increased prices. There are not sufficient courts available for the gameEvery club has a long waiting list for membership. The authorities predict a greater football boom during the coming season. Three thousand clubs are playing in Great London. There would be five thousand if more grounds w ere available.

Mr Massey referring to Meighan’s reported proposal to limit the conference to foreign relations with the Japanese Treaty, to external affairs, affecting the Dominions and the preparation of an agenda paper for the next Conference hut excluding defence. It is stated the Conference must settle its programme not, as individual dominions. Howjever indifferent td the Canada they may be, defence was the matter of supremest importance to Australia and New Zealand.
