POLLARD’S PICTURES.

AVEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY,

June Elvidge, the charming and talented AVorld star, will be seen in her latest picture- “His Father’s Wife” at the Princess Theatre on AA’ednesday. This is considered one of the most entertaining offerings in which Miss Elvidge has appeared, as it is well balanced throughout in points of humour pathos, characterisation and plot. Under the direction of Frank Crane the feature lias been given a fine production, and is pictoriallv effective in atmosphere and settings. Among a competent cast are Sam Hardy, tbe famous comedian ami Virginia Valli.

Tbe supporting programme will in elude a Christie comedy entitled—“ His Bridal Nightmare.”

On Thursday next Pollards are showing the strongest double star programme ever shown in Hokitika, “Back to God’s Country” starring Nell Shipman adapted from the story' ‘Wapi, the AValrus’ by James Oliver Curwood, and Charlie Chaplin in his latest Million Dollar picture “Sunnyside” three thousand feet. Note—This is not an old Chaplin film taken down from the shelf and shown by an assumed name, hut. the genuine article produced by First. National, his third release by this company.

McLEAN’S PICTURES.

DOROTHY DALTON, TO-NIGHT,

This (Tuesday) night, Mr McLean presents at the Princess Theatre a charming programme headed by a six reel Metro special feature with the talented and favorite Dorothy Dalton in the leading role. “The Dark Mirror” is a special star film, full of many stirring incidents and clever acting, in which the favorite star has a great character which she fills with special force and attractiveness. It is a picture that is specially recommended for adults. Tn addition the programme includes the ever popular laughter maker Max Sennett in one of his latest comedy successes, a laughter maker from start to finish. A fine Graphic, with special music by the full orchestra, will complete a fine programme. On Friday night Bill Hart will ho seen in the" drama “The Tollgate.”

PEOPLES PICTURES.

‘FOOLS FOR LUCK.”-TO-NIGHT

The programme for Peoples Pictures for to-night, already to hand is an exceptionally fine one. The star picture is an Essanay production, starring the popular comedian Taylor Holmes, and is entitled “Fools for Luck”. The story goes to show how Philander Jepson was, lucky, but one day he woke up on the 13th., broke a mirror spilled some salt, lost his rabbits’ foot and walked under a ladder. AVhat happened then? To find out you must see this great picture. It will satisfy you. The programme also includes a very laughable comedy, an attractive scenic, one of the latest gazettes. The orchestra (piccolo, cornet nn<l piano) will supply an excellent musical programme.
