ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET,

Best steers sold from Cl.l/10/- to £l7 ; extra good to £lB 7/G; prime £l2/10/- to £ls 5/-; medium £9 10/- to £l2/5/-; others £G 10/- to £9 5/-. Prime heifers, £t) 10/- to £l4/1.2/6; medium C7/5/- to £9; others £.l 10/- to £7. Best cows. £7/10/- to £l2/10/-; extra prime to CM/10/-; others Cl to £7. Store cattle— A very small yarding, and practically no quotable line offering, competition being very apathetic. Cows 2.1 - to El/- ; yearlings 2.1 - to .')•)/-; 2 years old £3/73/- to £3/1 </G. No big cattle were offering.

Store sheep The largest yarding for some considerable time. The market comprised mostly mothers, also some excellent lots of ewes. The market for all classes of wethers and rams was easier, but tho demand for best class ewes was keen and showed an advance oil recent sales. For medium and inferior sorts there was no. change. Forward wethers £l2/0 to 14/-; a line of extra good sorts making 17/3; others from 10/6 to 12/-. Best lambs to 12/-, others G/G to 9/6; smaller 3/- to 5/fl. Ewes best 2-tooth ewes to 17/0; 6 tooth ewes to 20/-; four tooth ewes 21/-; sound mouths to 17/3, hut alxive quotations were for superior lots only. Ordinary SAL ewes 20 0 to 13/-. Not many other lots of ewes were offering. Mutton—Another large yarding all round, including many excellent lines of wethers. The market opened very firm, but eased as il progressed, hut owing to several butchers being short sup plieftl and a West Coast buyer operating prices improved considerably towards the end of the sale. Best wethers 21/to 29/-; prime 19/6 to 23/6; medium 16/6 to 19/-; others 14/9 to 16/-. Ewes were in the same proportion and lambs were about tin* same.
